Studying isn’t the same as speaking
The BTLPT speaking section (Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test, TExES 190) asks you to do something narrow and specific: produce academic Spanish, out loud, in real time, in front of an interlocutor, with no time to prepare. The candidates who fail this section in Texas usually don’t fail because they don’t know the material. They fail because they’ve never practiced saying it out loud, under pressure, enough times.
The fix is unglamorous: reps. You need real conversations with someone who responds in the moment, picks up when you trail off, asks you to clarify, and pushes you to say it better the second time. Until now, that meant hiring a tutor by the hour or finding a study partner who could meet on your schedule. Now it lives on your phone, on your time, every day if you want it.

The BTLPT course already gives you AI-graded practice across all four domains, including oral responses you record and submit. This app adds something different: a live voice conversation with an AI partner who listens, processes, and responds in milliseconds, the way a real person would. It is a separate app. It complements the course; it is not included in it.

You speak, the character speaks back, the way a phone call works. Interrupt, ask for a repeat, change direction, all without the usual chatbot pause. The conversation flows the way it does with a person.
Accurate transcription, accent and all
Useful feedback needs an accurate transcript, no matter your accent or which variety of Spanish you speak. We use the most accurate transcription model on the market, on purpose: cheaper models trip over accented Spanish, and in Texas every variety of Spanish shows up in the classroom.
Behavior rules and pedagogical guardrails
Every character has a written role, tone, and set of limits. Verónica won’t pull you into politics, religion, or anything outside the bilingual classroom. The whole system is tuned so your conversations stay on what actually prepares you for the BTLPT.

But when you talk to Verónica about your progress, ask her to explain a correction, or unpack a technical term, she’ll answer in whichever language you prefer. How is this app different from the BTLPT course?

Do I need a microphone? Does it work on my phone?
Yes, and your phone or laptop mic is enough. The app runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop or mobile. The first time you open it, you’ll get a mic permission prompt, the same one any video-call app asks for. Headphones help with audio quality and cut down on echo.
What if I have an accent? Will the AI understand me?
Yes. We deliberately use the most accurate transcription model on the market, because cheaper options trip over accented speech and that would make the feedback worthless. The app was built for the actual range of Texas teacher candidates: native Spanish speakers from Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and Spain, plus speakers who learned Spanish as a second language. And when the AI genuinely can’t make you out, it tells you so instead of guessing.
Why is this a separate product from the course?
Real-time voice conversation with premium AI models costs meaningfully more per session than traditional course content. To keep the BTLPT course itself affordable, we offer this oral practice as a separate paid add-on for the candidates who specifically need it. Can I cancel? Are there refunds?
There’s nothing to cancel. You buy a fixed access window (3, 6, or 12 months) that doesn’t auto-renew, so no subscription is running in the background. Refunds: we’ll refund you in full within the first 7 days if you haven’t used more than 3 practice sessions. Email info@enablinglearning.com from your purchase address and we’ll send the refund directly to your card.
Are my conversations saved? Who can see them?
Your transcripts and scores are stored in your account so the system can track progress, build the “My Progress” dashboard, and give you consistent feedback across sessions. Only you can see your history. We don’t share individual transcripts with third parties, we don’t use them to train outside models, and we don’t publish them. If you want everything deleted when your access ends, email us and we’ll wipe it.
How many conversations can I have?
Unlimited, for the length of your plan. Each session caps at 10 minutes, which keeps practice focused and matches the actual length of BTLPT segments. Start as many new sessions as you want, every day if you want.
Which browsers does it work in?
Current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on desktop or mobile. The app needs microphone access, so you’ll see a permission prompt the first time you open it. No native app to download.
