My Journey from Constructivism to Constructionism

During my teacher training in Venezuela, a professor introduced me to constructionism, an evolution of constructivism. He highlighted Dr. Seymour Papert, an educator and mathematician from MIT, who was deeply influenced by his time working with Jean Piaget in Geneva. While Piaget’s constructivism focused on how individuals internally construct knowledge, Papert expanded this idea with constructionism, emphasizing that students should create physical constructions, not just ideas, which others can observe and critique.
