The TExES Gifted and Talented Supplemental (162) is the certification examination required by the Texas Education Agency for educators seeking the Gifted and Talented Supplemental certification. The 80-question selected-response exam covers two domains: Foundations of Gifted Education (40%, Competencies 1-2) and Assessment, Curriculum, and Instruction (60%, Competencies 3-5). The 5-hour exam is scored on a 100-300 scale with a passing score of 240.
