What is the TSIA2?

The TSIA2 (Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0) is the placement test required by Texas state law for entering most Texas public colleges and universities. It has two sections, Mathematics and ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading, including a written essay). Your scores determine whether you enroll directly in college-level coursework or in developmental education classes first. Most students take it once.

Who this app is for

TSIA2 Prep was designed with emergent bilingual students in mind. If your stronger language is something other than English, and you would benefit from being able to ask questions and have concepts explained in your first language, this app is built for you. The questions on the actual TSIA2 are in English, and so is your practice here. The multilingual support is what helps you understand the trickier parts on your way there.

Meet Verónica, your AI tutor in your language

Verónica is at the heart of TSIA2 Prep. She is an AI tutor, available 24/7, who responds in the language you write to her in. Stuck on factoring? Ask her in English, she answers in English. Still not clicking? Ask her again in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or whichever language is more comfortable for you, and she explains in that language. The questions on the real test will be in English, and so is your practice. Verónica is the comprehension scaffold that bridges the gap.

Verónica is verified fluent in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Telugu, and more. She also recognizes and responds in many other languages, with a brief note in the conversation that those eight are her primary tested ones.

Every reply Verónica sends has a speaker icon next to it. Tap it and she reads her answer aloud, naturally, in whichever language she is responding in. That helps when an explanation is dense, when you are studying on the move, or when hearing a word out loud is what makes it click.

You can also ask Verónica to define a key word, restate a question in plainer English, or walk through a concept step by step in your language. If a vocabulary word is what’s blocking you on a reading passage, ask her what it means in your first language, then read the passage again. That is the kind of help that actually moves your understanding.

She does not give you the answer. She is a tutor, not a calculator. She asks the right questions to help you find the answer yourself, the way a strong older sibling would. That is the only kind of help that actually moves your test score.

Every practice activity, diagnostic question, and capstone in TSIA2 Prep is calibrated to the Texas college-readiness benchmarks set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Your “Practice Progress” panel shows you, strand by strand, how close you are to consistent performance at that level. We do not promise scores. The TSIA2 is administered by THECB and the result depends on you. What we promise is honest practice and feedback aligned to the same standards the test uses.

Your practice questions are pre-built and verified. We do not generate them on the fly while you wait. Our bank holds 5,000+ questions across the four math strands, reading, sentence editing, and passage revision. Every single item was produced by one advanced AI model, independently re-solved by a second AI model, and then reviewed by subject-matter expert reviewers. Anywhere two reviewers found a second defensible answer, the question was retired. What is left is what you practice with: questions where the right answer is the right answer, with explanations that hold up.

• Essay scoring. When you submit a TSIA2-style essay, our AI scores it on the same six-dimension rubric the actual TSIA2 uses, in seconds. Every essay is graded twice and the scores reconciled, so what you see is steady and honest. You get a holistic 1-to-8 score, dimension-by-dimension breakdown, specific strengths, areas to work on, and a recommendation for what to practice next.

As you practice, you earn in-app badges for Math and for Reading & Writing (80% mastery in each). Earning both unlocks a full practice test; pass it and you receive a Certificate of Completion for the TSIA2 Preparation Course, a verifiable, shareable digital credential (a downloadable branded PDF, a public QR verification link, and LinkedIn sharing) issued through POK. It documents that you finished our preparation program; it is not an official TSIA2 score or result.
