The Smart Study Dashboard gives you a complete picture of your preparation across every course you are enrolled in. Instead of wondering what to study next, you see it. Instead of treating every topic equally, the dashboard ranks them by how much each one affects your exam score. And when you are preparing for multiple certifications at once, Verónica connects the dots between courses so you can study smarter, not longer.
Performance Heatmap
A color-coded grid displays your scores across every competency and domain in every enrolled course. Strong areas are green, areas that need work are red, and everything in between is visible at a glance. No more guessing where you stand. Open the dashboard, and it is all there, organized by course, domain, and competency.
Priority Study Plan
Not all weak areas are equally important. The dashboard uses an algorithm that ranks what to study next by impact, calculated as domain weight multiplied by weakness. If a domain is worth 29% of your exam and you are scoring 45%, it gets ranked much higher than a domain worth 10% where you are at 55%. Your limited study time goes where it will make the biggest difference on exam day.
Cross-Course Intelligence
When you are enrolled in multiple courses, Verónica identifies concepts that overlap between them. If second language acquisition theory is a weak area in both your ESL and Bilingual Education courses, she tells you to focus there, because strengthening that one concept improves your preparation for two exams at once. The more courses you are preparing for, the more powerful this becomes.

For language proficiency exams, Verónica goes beyond tutoring. She becomes your conversation partner, your writing evaluator, and your lesson planning coach. These features are available in Spanish (BTLPT, LOTE) and English (TOEFL).
Conversation Practice
Practice discussing education topics with Verónica in the target language. For Spanish exams (BTLPT, LOTE), she provides gentle corrections on grammar, accent marks, and academic register. For English exams (TOEFL), she helps with academic vocabulary, fluency, and argument structure. Each session ends with a rubric-based evaluation aligned to the specific exam.
Oral and Written Response Evaluation
Record your oral responses or submit your writing in Spanish or English. Verónica evaluates each one against the criteria the exam measures: task fulfillment, organization, and language use. You receive specific corrections with exact quotes from your response, plus a model answer for comparison.
Model Lesson Plan Generator
For BTLPT preparation, select a TEKS objective and Verónica generates a model lesson plan showing the 5-component structure the exam expects: grade level, vocabulary, materials, procedures, and evaluation.

Every response Verónica gives is grounded in a knowledge base built by subject matter experts, experienced bilingual educators and instructional designers who understand certification standards, classroom realities, and the nuances of teaching emergent bilingual students. The AI delivers this expertise reliably and at scale, but the knowledge itself comes from humans.
How does Verónica know the right answers?
Verónica uses a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system. When you ask a question, the system first searches our curated knowledge base of verified educational content, certification guidelines, teaching strategies, and course materials. Only after retrieving relevant, expert-verified information does the AI generate a response. This means her answers are grounded in factual sources, not generated from general knowledge.
What is in the knowledge base?
Our knowledge base holds more than 17,000 entries, organized in collections, and each course searches only the collections chosen for it. The entries include certification competencies and frameworks, research-based teaching strategies, bilingual education best practices, course-specific content aligned to state standards (TEKS, ELPS, WIDA), academic Spanish conventions, and real-world classroom scenarios. The content is written and curated by experienced bilingual educators and instructional designers, and the library grows with every course we add.
How do you prevent the AI from making things up?
We use a three-layer defense system. First, input filtering catches inappropriate requests before they reach the AI. Second, content moderation screens every interaction. Third, the AI’s system instructions include strict factual grounding rules: if the knowledge base doesn’t contain relevant information, Verónica will tell you she doesn’t have that answer rather than guessing. We also use conservative AI settings that prioritize accuracy over creativity.
Can Verónica read what I’m studying?
Yes. On lesson pages, Verónica reads the complete lesson on your screen before she answers: the page title, the course context, and the full lesson text. This is why she can speak confidently and specifically about what you are learning, rather than giving generic advice.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your conversations with Verónica stay within the app. We recommend avoiding student names or identifiable information, and the system is designed to support this approach. Your lesson plans, practice responses, and chat history remain private and secure.
Who are the experts behind Verónica?
Verónica is built by a team that combines subject matter expertise with technology and education. Our instructional designers and bilingual education specialists have over a decade of experience in teacher preparation, ESL instruction, and certification exam development. They create the content, define the evaluation criteria, and curate the knowledge base. The AI is the delivery mechanism; the expertise comes from humans who understand what teachers need to know and how to help them learn it.
What makes this different from using a regular chatbot?
